CareerDNA - The First Interactive Online Career Mentoring and Counseling Center
Are you one of the 67% of recent college graduates who are not confident about your career choice? Or one of the millions who are dissatisfied with your work and seeking tools to find a career that’s right for you?
CareerDNA is an interactive career mentoring and coaching center that helps you cultivate a career - - and a future - - you can be passionate about.
Based on the work of renowned career counselor Dr. Brian Schwartz, CareerDNA has taken a proven offline career discovery and assessment process -- that typically costs thousands of dollars -- and transformed it into a suite of online career coaching and development tools.
Tested at four well-known academic institutions and one “Fortune 1000” company, CareerDNA is now available to you in a private online workstation.
And CareerDNA can literally be right at your fingertips, with a computer and access to the Internet. Plus, by assigning a user ID and password, you can be sure your information is private and safe. Join now.
Here's how it works...
Step One: Take a journey of self-discovery.
With Dr. Brian Schwartz as your guide and mentor, CareerDNA's interactive self-assessment and career management software provides you with a thorough understanding of your personality type, temperament, skills, values, and interests so you can identify the career path that's right for you and build a stronger, more targeted career plan.
Step Two: Map your skills, interests, and passions.
Throughout the self-assessment process, CareerDNA gives you the opportunity to self-validate your personality profile so you can be sure you’re on target. You can then map your skills, interests, and passions to careers that fit your profile. In addition, you can explore specific careers using our extensive library of career profiles and job descriptions.
Step Three: Load your personal workstation.
Using the information from the self-assessment process, CareerDNA helps you load your personal details (including professional and personal achievements, education, and employment history) into your workstation, where it is saved for future use.
Step Four: Create your marketing plan.
CareerDNA guides you as you create a marketing plan that promotes you and what you have to offer. You’ll build the right foundation for a passion-based resume, write a succinct statement of your career objectives, perfect your “elevator pitch,” and prepare questions and answers for in-person interviews.
You can become a CareerDNA member and get access to our services.
As part of our commitment to your success, CareerDNA also provides you with bi-monthly e-mails containing advice and coaching from Dr. Schwartz and other renowned career coaches -- such as Peter Weddle. Described by the Washington Post as “a man filled with ingenious ideas,” Pete writes and speaks about the special challenges of finding a job and achieving career success in the 21st-century workplace. He's authored and edited over two dozen books and was a columnist for the interactive edition of The Wall Street Journal, The National Business Employment Weekly, and CNN.com.
Coaching articles written by Brian Schwartz (Dr. B.) and Pete Weddle (Coach P.) will include topics such as:
- Using the Internet effectively for a job search
- What you need to know about job boards
- All-time best tips for interviews
- Self-esteem -- the key to career success
- Effectively managing your boss
Plus, Dr. B. and Coach P. will be on hand to answer specific questions you submit via the “Ask Brian” section within your workstation.

"I just finished running through the CareerDNA program.
I found it to be a well-designed, easy to use, career program based in solid career development theory and practice.
It takes the user through a series of questions and assessments and produces a comprehensive picture of personality, demonstrated skills, and career interests.
What is different about your program is how it connects this information to resume bullets and personal pitches.
It personalizes the job search process in a unique way that nothing else does."Patricia Imbimbo, Ph.D.
